David Lee Prater

Mr. David Lee Prater, age 63 of Rome, passed away on Sunday August 20th, 2023, at his residence.

Mr. Prater was born in Rockmart, Ga on July 25th, 1960, to the late Larry Prater and the late Evelyn Haney Prater. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Brand. Mr. Prater was a welder by trade and was retired from Neaton Maintenance Company. He loved sharpening his knives, listening to music, motorcycles, and a good game of pool. Mr. Prater was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Prater; four sons, Robert Minter (Brandee), Michael Freeman (Ashley), Alex Tortoso (Caitlin), and Tony Tortoso; one daughter, Amy Prater Jacks (Steve); two brothers, Kenny Griffin (Rhonda), and Steven Prater; two sisters, Patsy Hixon (Eric), and Tish Prater; 17 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Thursday August 24th, 2023, from 6 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.
