David Lee Worthington Sr.

Mr. David Lee Worthington Sr., age 65 of Kingston, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, at Atrium Floyd Hospital.

Mr. Worthington was born in Cartersville, Georgia on July 20th, 1959, to the late H.E. "Ellis" Worthington and Eunice Geneva Falls. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Danny Ellis Worthington; and one sister, Kathy Diane Hightower. 

Mr. Worthington was a graduate of Adairsville High School, proud member of the class of 1977. His love of sports carried on from his youth and everyone who knew him knew his allegiance to the GA Bulldogs, wrestling, and baseball. He often could be found on the field playing in the adult league softball league. He was a hard worker and a carpenter by trade, having retired from both Local Laborers Union 515 and Local Carpenters Union 225. Mr. Worthington was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his two sons, David "DJ" Worthington Jr. and Daniel Worthington; three sisters, Gwendolyn Worthington, Yvonne Mulinix (Asa), and Wanda Bonner; three brothers, Dennis Worthington (April), Homer Worthington, and Joseph Worthington; three grandchildren, Aubree Worthington, Darian, and Dayton Worthington.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 21st, 2024 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Home with Rev. Harvey Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens in Cartersville. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers include Caleb Davenport, Ian Dirkes, Steve Kilgore, Mark Martins, and Chris Greene. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 20th from 6 PM until 9 PM at the funeral home.
