Mary Evelyn Casey

Ms. Mary Evelyn Casey, age 77 of Rome, Ga., passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 25th, 2024, at a local hospital. 

Ms. Casey was born in Marshall County, Ala., on December 9th, 1946, to the late Thomas Lewis Watkins Sr. and the late Marzee Griffith Watkins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Mr. Thomas Watkins Jr.; two sisters, Linda Lumpkin and Margaret Murdock. Ms. Casey worked for many years at Galey and Lord and then moved to the Floyd County Tag office until her retirement. She was of the Baptist faith. 

Survivors include her son, Scott Casey and his wife Anita; one grandson, Andrew Casey and his wife Shelby; two sisters, Brenda Autry (Kerry) and Faye Bennett (Billy); sister-in-law, Joyce Watkins; father of her son, Tony Casey; several nieces and nephews. 

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, July 28th, 2024, at 3 PM at Morning View Cemetery with family and friends sharing memories. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
