Mary Ilene Minter

Mrs. Mary Ilene Minter, age 90 of Lindale, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, October 17th,2024, surrounded by her family at her residence.

Mrs. Minter was born in Floyd County on January 21st, 1934, to the late J.D. Phillips and the late Americus Lou Ellen Smith Phillips. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Talmadge "Dick" Lamar Minter; one son, Johnny Lamar Minter; one grandchild, Monica Minter; one brother, James D. Phillips; one sister, Ella Mae Holmes; and one son-in-law, Darrell Thompson. Mrs. Minter was "a mother to all" and loved raising kids. She enjoyed cooking and family gatherings, most of all, she loved the Lord with all her heart. She was dedicated to her faith and was a resilient prayer warrior. Mrs. Minter was a past member of Christ Gospel Church and more recently attended the Lindale Church of God. 

Survivors include her three sons, Randy Minter and his wife Pam of Silver Creek, Billy Minter and his wife Kellie of Lindale, and Dean Minter and his wife Dulcy of Calhoun; one daughter, Dolores Thompson of Silver Creek; 12 grandchildren, Chris Minter (Heather), Connie Money, Eric Minter (Kelsey), Kayla Minter, Shane Wesson, Chris Poore (Heather), Jessica Siniard (Danny), Misty Minter, B.G. Minter, Kacie Proctor (Dan), Cameron Minter, and Chris Harris; one sister, Opal Henson of Rome; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and her caregiver, Penny Hammond. 

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Davis officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery with Rev. Mishie (Michael) Bojczuk officiating. Pallbearers include Isaac Money, Chris Minter, Eric Minter, Kayla Minter, Chris Poore, Mason Minter, and Bryson Minter. Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Honorary pallbearers include all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 21st, from 6 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.
