Mrs. Marzi Teresa Bickert

Mrs. Marzi Teresa Bickert, age 81 of Rome, Ga., passed away on Saturday, January 11th, 2025 at a local hospital.

Mrs. Bickert was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania on July 4th, 1943 to the late John G. Kowal Sr., and the late Helen Mcdermott. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Mr. George Russell Bickert Jr.; two brothers, Jack and Frank Kowal. Prior to her first retirement, Mrs. Bickert was employed with Bellsouth. After retiring from Bellsouth, she decided to pursue a second career at The Country Gentlemen's Restaurant as a bartender and later at Barnsley Gardens Resort. At the strong age of 81, she decided to go back to work yet again and was currently employed as a cashier at Publix. Her strong and fierce personality enabled her to keep going even in the face of adversity. She loved all "Philly Sports", whether it was the Philadelpia Eagles, Philadelphia 76ers, or the Philadelphia Flyers. You would often find her cheering them on when it was game day. Mrs. Bickert was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church. 

Survivors include her son, Mr. George Bickert III and his wife, Janice of Calhoun; sister-in-law, Kathy Yoder (Charlie) of Trappe, PA.; brother-in-law, Elwood Bickert of Pottstown, PA.; four nieces, Debbie, Terri, Patti Ann, and Ada; five nephews, Tony, Bob, Matt, Jay, and Joe Yoder. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 14th, 2025 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Reynolds Funeral Home. 

Funeral Services and Interment will follow at a later date in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania.
