Mrs. Bobbie Darlene Smith, age 65, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Smith was born in Rome, Georgia, on March 20th, 1959 to the late Bobby Jackson Johnson and Sarah Lanell Givens Johnson. Mrs. Smith was a lovingly sweet person whose disposition made her a joy to be around. She was a caring wife, mother, and grandmother who doted on her grandchildren. Mrs. Smith loved watching T.V. and during football season you could guarantee she'd be tuned in to Alabama football games. The devotion to Alabama even carried over to her naming her canine companion, Saban. Her love of football didn't stop there though, Berry College and the "kids" she affectionately cheered on, kept her in the stands every home game that Berry College played. She was sought out by the students there many times, as they could always count on her presence and support. Summertime was favorite time of year when she hosted family at her house around the pool. When Mrs. Smith wasn't outside lounging and enjoying the sunshine, she could be found inside baking up the delicious cakes that everyone wanted. Her German Chocolate cake was often so sought after that people were wanting to purchase them every time she made one! Her carrot cakes were a close second favorite but any cake she made was mouth watering goodness. Her cakes, laughter, and sweet demeanor will be dearly missed by her family and friends and those who were fortunate to know her.
Survivors include her husband, James Harrison Smith; one son, Kevin Smith and his wife Kimberly; four grandchildren, Austin Smith and his wife Stephanie, Jessica Smith, Allie Roberson, and Gavin Smith; six great grandchildren, Payton Smith, Ollie Smith, Raeleigh Smith, Zillie Smith, Hayden Dover, and Zane Dover; one brother, Bill Johnson and his wife Melinda; one sister, Debbie Reynolds and her husband Paul; numerous nieces and nephews; and her faithful canine companion, Saban.
In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Smith was cremated and no services are planned at this time.
