Norman Thomas "Tommy" Mathis

Mr. Norman Thomas "Tommy" Mathis, age 81 of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 at Advent Health Redmond.

Mr. Mathis was born in Atlanta, Georgia on October 27th, 1942 to the late Norman Conley Mathis and the late Donees Clark. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Mathis. He loved sports of all kinds but he most enjoyed racing his dirt track car. Mr. Mathis was a painter by trade and he was of the Baptist Faith. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Gail Mathis; two sons, Keith (Angee) Mathis and Bobby Mathis; five grandchildren, Brianne Mathis, Garrett (Keegan) Mathis, Daulton (Lauren) Mathis, Austinn (Hannah) Mathis, and Richie DeCoursey; four great grandchildren, Gavin Sharpe, Luke Sharpe, Bella Mathis, and Soren Mathis; two great grandchildren on the way; and his fur baby Kara.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, October 21st, 2024 at 2:30 PM at Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Tyler Reynolds officiating. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers include, Keith Mathis, Garrett Mathis, Daulton Mathis, and Austinn Mathis. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 21st from 12 PM until 2 PM at the funeral home.
