Roger Harold Howell

Mr. Roger Harold Howell, age 81, of Cave Spring, Georgia, passed away on Friday, March 21st, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Howell was born in Canton, Georgia, on May 6th, 1943, to the late Harold Jake Howell and the late Elma Dora Duckett Howell. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Jean McDowell. Mr. Howell was known as one of the absolute best mechanics and could fix anything he put his hands on. His competent skill landed him a job working for Mayfield Trucking Company where he worked for over 35 years. He later retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Reading a good book was his favorite pastime. A devoted family man, he shared a beautiful and enduring love with his wife, to whom he was married for 61 years. His life was the epitome of commitment, love, and quiet strength, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished forever by all those fortunate to know him.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Carolyn Low Howell; two sons, Gary Howell of Bremen and Richard Howell (Crista) of Rome; two daughters, Connie Earwood (Jeff) of Douglasville and Melissa Pitts (Marty) of Powder Springs; 11 grandchildren; Emily, Chance, Dalton, Erika, Ethan, Alexia, Alex, Abigayle, Annalyne, Elizabeth, and Anzleigh; three great-grandchildren, Renlee, Annistyn, and Lilla Mae; three brothers, Hulan, Gerald, and Larry Howell; two sisters, Jackie Norton and Judy Medlock.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 29th, 2025 from 1 PM until 3 PM at The Rolater Park in Cave Spring (13 Old Cedartown Rd. Cave Spring, Ga 30124) with family and friends sharing memories. The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted.
