Stephen Hodges

Mr. Stephen Hodges, age 69 of Calhoun, Ga., passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10th, 2024, surrounded by his family at his residence.

Mr. Hodges was born in Asheville, North Carolina, on March 17th, 1955, to the late Floyd Ray Hodges and Georgia Ann Evans. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his stepmother, Joan Seely; one sister, Donna Louise Fender known as "The Chosen One". Mr. Hodges started his career as a Journeyman Engineer for 10 years and then became a General Contractor. He was also a truck driver for over 30 years. When he was not in the truck, he stayed busy with lots of activities. He enjoyed operating heavy machinery and loved the smell of diesel fuel.  Many days he could be found working and tinkering outdoors on his tractor and riding his motorcycle. He loved camping and showing off his skills water skiing at the lake. His greatest enjoyment and pleasure came from spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and loved the Lord. 

Survivors include his wife, Connie Hodges; one son, George Jason (Jessi) Hodges; one bonus son, John Ladage; one daughter, Stephanie Ann (Donnie) Moore; six grandchildren, Cailey Georgia Ann Moore, Samuel Thomas Moore, Rain Marie Anderson, Ethan Russell Anderson, Ella Jane Anderson, George Avery Hodges; one great grandchild, Reginald Heard III; one brother, Kenneth Ray Hodges; one sister, Julia Ann Daggett; along with extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August, 31st, 2024 at 2:30 PM at The Allen Barn, 192 Butterfly Dr., Ranger, Ga. The family will receive friends from 2 PM until the service hour. Following the service, the family would like those in attendance to join them for refreshments and fellowship.
