Thomas Ray Watkins

Mr. Thomas Ray Watkins, age 72 of the Shannon Community, passed away on Saturday, June 1^st, 2024, at a local hospital. 

Mr. Watkins was born in Boaz, Ala., on July 20^th, 1951, to the late Thomas Lewis Watkins and the late Marzee Griffith Watkins. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Jason Watkins; his daughter, Stacy Watkins; two sisters, Margaret Murdock. and Linda Lumpkin. Mr. Watkins was retired from Mannington Mills. He was an electrician by trade and was a man of many talents. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, gardening, and telling jokes. He enjoyed growing all the usual summertime vegetables, but cucumbers were his specialty. He enjoyed spending time with his family and would always take the opportunity to listen to and study with the Rev. John Hagee when he had the chance. Mr. Watkins was of the Baptist faith. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Mrs. Joyce Watkins to whom he was married on February 3^rd, 1996; three sons, Tommy Watkins Jr. and his wife, Cristy, Dean Bailey and his wife, Deborah and Allen Bailey; three sisters, Mary Casey, Brenda Autry, and Faye Bennett; five grandchildren, Justin Watkins, Austin Watkins, Carly Ellison, Corbin Watkins, and Collin Wilson; six great-grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 5^th, 2024, at 12 PM from the Chapel of Reynolds Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 5^th from 10 AM until 12 PM at the funeral home.
